Baumholder’s Family Life Chaplain Center’s mission is to provide faith-sensitive counseling and educational opportunities to individuals, couples, and families. The focus is to provide clients with resources to reach their goals and live life to the fullest.
How to contact a chaplain
lDuring duty hours, call your Unit Chaplain listed on the other side of this pamphlet.
lAfter duty hours, on weekends or holidays, call the U.S. Army Garrison, Baumholder, Staff Duty Office at 485-6150 or 06783-6-6150 and request that the On Call Duty Chaplain call you.
lSuicide Prevention help is always available through your Chaplain or your unit. You can also call 485-8070 or 485-8080 and ask to speak to the appointment nurse. The suicide hotline is DSN 485-8255 or civ 06783-6-8255.
Role of a chaplain
1. Perform Worship Services, Religious Rites and Sacred Ministry.
2. Provide for the free exercise of religion.
3. Conduct confidential counseling about pre-marital, marital, grief, and other issues.
4. Teach Moral Leadership, Suicide Prevention and life coping skills classes.
5. Visit unit work areas, hospitals and homes as needed.
