The ceremony marked the official return of the brigade to Baumholder after a year-long deployment in Afghanistan. Two Soldiers were honored during the ceremony for their actions in Afghanistan which helped to save the life of fellow Soldiers. Specialist Nicholas A. Moody, C Company, 4th Battalion, 70th Armor, was presented the Soldiers Medal. His actions allowed one Soldier to Survive and several fallen Soldiers to be safely evacuated. Sgt. Joseph A Johnson, C Battery, 1st Battalion 84th Field Artillery, was presented the Bronze Star Medal with V Device. Under hostile fire he repaired to .50 caliber rifles which gave his platoon the fire power it needed to suppress the enemy and ultimately saving lives.

Town hall goes live on facebook
